FAQ – Shipping

All of our rooftop tents are shipped through a third-party freight shipping carrier.

Freight shipping can take around 5-7 business days.

The High Service Zone Fee is an additional charge applied to certain regions not covered by our main freight partners. In these areas, our primary freight partners pass the shipment to a third-party carrier that specializes in servicing these specific zones. Consequently, customers are required to pay an additional fee to cover the specialized service required for these regions, in addition to the standard shipping cost. Inspired Overland remains transparent by passing on these additional charges directly to the customer, without any markup.

To ensure smooth delivery of your RTT, we urge all customers to carefully inspect their tent upon delivery for any damages. Should you notice any damages to your RTT, do not sign the bill of lading and reject the shipment. We ask that you contact [email protected] immediately with photos of the damages, the bill of lading, and your order number so that we can promptly process a replacement tent for you.

**Please be advised that if you accept the shipment and later discover damages to your RTT, Inspired Overland WILL NOT provide a warranty or replacement for your tent. Therefore, we strongly urge all customers to thoroughly inspect their RTT upon delivery and take action if necessary to ensure a satisfactory outcome.

If you haven’t received an email notification with tracking, it means your order is currently in the queue for delivery from our warehouse. Once the shipping carrier picks up your order from our warehouse, we will email you tracking and shipping details.

Please be aware that due to the high volume of orders, there may be longer lead times than usual. We sincerely appreciate your patience as we actively work on improving our shipping times to better serve all our customers.

FAQ – Tent Maintenance

Guide to Keeping Your Rooftop Tent Clean and Fresh:

Regular Airing Out:
After each trip, make it a habit to air out your RTT. This simple step helps prevent lingering odors and allows you to shake off any accumulated dust from your camping adventures.

Seasonal Deep Clean:
Depending on usage, aim for a deep clean once per season to maintain your RTT’s freshness. Start by focusing on the bedding.

Remove the mattress pad and bedding.
Unzip and wash the mattress cover separately. Avoid washing the memory foam mattress; only clean the cover. Hang dry the cover afterward.

Interior Wipe Down:
Use a towel and cleaning solution to wipe down the inside of the tent. Pay attention to areas where dirt and debris may accumulate, such as between the mattress and base. If the tent frame’s poles are exposed, wipe them down as well.

PVC Cover Maintenance:
The PVC cover tends to collect dust, bugs, and debris. Hose it down and scrub off any stubborn debris using a suitable cleaner like 303® Tonneau Cover & Convertible Top Cleaner. Finish by applying 303® Marine Protectant for added protection.

Ladder Cleaning:
Don’t forget about the ladder. Wipe down telescoping ladders regularly to keep them clean and functional.

Thorough Drying:
Before reassembling and packing up your RTT, ensure that all components are completely dry. Packing away a damp tent risks mildew formation, so allow everything to air dry thoroughly.

By following these simple steps, you can keep your RTT clean, fresh, and ready for your next outdoor adventure.

Generally, regular cleaning will help maintain its condition and prolong its lifespan. It’s recommended to clean it periodically to prevent any unnecessary damage.

The soft clamshell cover on the Inspired Overland tent is the portion of the tent that’s most exposed to the elements. Below are our recommended products to clean and maintain the PVC cover.

303® Marine Protectant

While we use the highest grade zipper for our tent – YKK Zipper. No matter how great the quality is, zippers are open to the elements such as sand, mud, rain, and snow. It is very important that they are cared for in order to maintain a long life. Mud and dust are very hard to keep away from the zippers as they are exposed to the elements.

Using a lubricant such as Bee’s Wax or a Zipper Lubricant is a great way to keep the zipper last for a long time. Applying a small amount and rubbing it on the zipper while opening and closing will help to maintain your zipper. It will greatly improve the functionality of the zipper and its service life. If you have mud and dirt that get into the zipper, clean it with a damp cloth and then re-lubricate.

Additionally, we advise customers to acquire zipper pulls for their zippers. Zipper pulls offer excellent leverage, making it easier to unzip without exerting excessive force that might misalign the zipper teeth or cause damage.
