Inspired Overland Return Policy
This page outlines our return windows, refund process, and cancellation terms. Please review this policy carefully before making a purchase. By completing your purchase, you agree to the terms outlined below.
1. Return Windows
Inspired Overland accepts standard return requests within the following timeframes from the carrier-confirmed delivery date:
• Rooftop Tents: 15 days from the delivery date
• Outdoor Gear / Camp Essentials / Accessories: 30 days from the delivery date
The delivery date shown in the applicable carrier tracking or delivery record will be used to determine the start of the return window.
Standard return requests submitted outside of the applicable return window will not be accepted.
These return windows apply to standard returns only. Freight-damage claims, warranty claims, and requests involving alleged damaged, defective, incorrect, or materially non-conforming merchandise are subject to the separate provisions and procedures stated in this policy and the Inspired Overland Limited Warranty, as applicable.
2. Return Eligibility
For purposes of this policy, a standard return is a voluntary return that is not being processed under the separate provisions for freight damage, damaged or defective merchandise, incorrect merchandise, material non-conformity, or warranty claims.
To be eligible for a standard return, all items must meet ALL of the following conditions:
• The item must be unused and uninstalled.
• The item must be returned in its original condition.
• The returned item must be the same item originally purchased. Serial numbers, identifying labels, or other product identifiers must match the purchase records when applicable.
• All original packaging, hardware, accessories, components, and included materials must be returned and undamaged.
• The item must not have been modified, altered, repaired, or otherwise changed from its original condition.
• Valid proof of purchase must be provided.
• The return must be authorized in writing by Inspired Overland before the item is shipped or delivered back.
Return authorization does not guarantee approval of a full refund. All returned merchandise is subject to inspection after receipt.
Inspired Overland reserves the right to decline a standard return or issue a partial refund if the returned merchandise is incomplete, damaged, missing components or packaging, shows signs of use or installation, does not match the merchandise originally purchased, or otherwise fails to meet the eligibility requirements above.
Inspired Overland reserves the right to make the final determination as to whether a returned item satisfies the eligibility requirements of this policy based on the condition of the merchandise, supporting documentation, purchase records, product identifiers, and inspection of the returned item.
These eligibility requirements apply to standard returns only. Claims involving alleged shipping damage, manufacturing defects, incorrect merchandise, or material non-conformity are subject to the separate provisions and procedures stated in this policy and the Inspired Overland Limited Warranty, as applicable.
3. Return Shipping & Transportation
Unless Inspired Overland expressly agrees otherwise in writing, customers are responsible for all shipping and transportation costs associated with returning merchandise, including freight charges for rooftop tents.
This requirement applies to all merchandise returns under this policy, including Standard Returns and authorized returns involving alleged freight damage, product damage, defects, incorrect merchandise, incorrect or disputed dimensions or specifications, alleged misrepresentation, or alleged material non-conformity.
Inspired Overland must authorize the return method and return destination in writing before merchandise is shipped, transported, or delivered back. Depending on the circumstances, Inspired Overland may designate a warehouse, fulfillment facility, authorized dealer, service location, or other return destination.
Customers may not independently select or change a return destination, arrange freight or courier service contrary to Inspired Overland’s instructions, deliver merchandise to a dealer or warehouse, or incur return-related expenses with the expectation of reimbursement unless expressly authorized by Inspired Overland in writing.
Customers should not purchase replacement pallets, crates, boxes, packaging materials, freight services, courier services, storage, or other return-related services unless instructed or approved by Inspired Overland in writing. Unauthorized return-related expenses will not be reimbursed.
If Inspired Overland arranges return transportation for convenience, the customer remains responsible for the applicable return transportation cost unless Inspired Overland expressly agrees in writing to pay or waive that cost.
If the customer is authorized to arrange return transportation, the customer is responsible for ensuring that the merchandise is properly prepared and protected for return, shipped using the authorized method, and delivered to the authorized return destination. Inspired Overland may require tracking, insurance, photographs, or other documentation as a condition of the return.
For customer-arranged return transportation, loss, damage, missing components, or deterioration occurring during return transit may affect return eligibility or the amount of any refund.
Once a return is authorized, the merchandise must be tendered for return within the timeframe stated in the written return authorization. A return authorization does not remain open indefinitely.
Refusing delivery does not, by itself, constitute an authorized return. Merchandise refused for reasons unrelated to documented freight damage remains subject to the applicable shipping, return, restocking, and carrier-charge provisions of Inspired Overland’s policies.
If Inspired Overland voluntarily pays, waives, arranges, or assists with return transportation in a particular transaction, that accommodation applies only to that transaction and does not modify this policy, create an obligation to provide the same accommodation in another case, or establish a precedent.
4. Return & Claim Categories
For purposes of this policy, return and product-related requests are handled according to the nature of the request and the resolution being sought.
The applicable categories are:
• Standard Return — A voluntary return for reasons such as change of mind, preference, fitment, compatibility, or other reasons that do not involve an alleged product defect, shipping damage, incorrect merchandise, or material non-conformity. Standard Returns are subject to the Standard Return requirements of this policy.
• Damaged, Defective, Incorrect, or Materially Non-Conforming Merchandise Return — A request to return merchandise for a monetary refund based on an allegation that the merchandise was damaged, defective, incorrect, materially different from the product ordered or represented, or otherwise materially non-conforming. These requests are subject to the separate return-review provisions stated in this policy.
• Freight Damage Claim — A claim that merchandise was damaged during shipping or freight transportation. Freight Damage Claims are subject to the Inspired Overland Shipping Policy and the applicable provisions of this policy.
• Warranty Claim — A request for repair, replacement parts, or product replacement based on an alleged manufacturing defect covered by the Inspired Overland Limited Warranty. Warranty Claims are governed by the Inspired Overland Limited Warranty and are separate from requests for a monetary return or refund.
A customer’s description or characterization of a product or claim, including the use of terms such as “damaged,” “defective,” “incorrect,” “misrepresented,” “non-conforming,” “rejected,” or similar terminology, does not by itself establish that the merchandise meets that classification, establish a breach, or determine the remedy available.
Inspired Overland may require photographs, video, measurements, serial numbers, delivery records, product information, or other reasonable documentation necessary to review and evaluate a product-related request.
For purposes of administering this policy, Inspired Overland will determine the applicable return or claim process based on the circumstances of the request, the resolution being sought, the available documentation, and the condition of the merchandise.
5. Original Shipping & Freight Charges — Non-Refundable
Original shipping and freight charges are non-refundable.
Shipping and freight charges are separately itemized from the merchandise purchase price and represent a separate charge for the shipping or freight service associated with delivering the merchandise to the customer. Shipping and freight charges are not part of the merchandise purchase price.
A return or refund of the merchandise does not include, create, or automatically entitle the customer to a refund of the original shipping or freight charge.
This provision applies to all authorized merchandise returns under this policy, regardless of the reason for the return, including:
• Standard Returns
• Alleged or confirmed product damage
• Alleged or confirmed manufacturing defects
• Incorrect merchandise
• Incorrect or disputed dimensions or specifications
• Alleged misrepresentation or product-description discrepancies
• Alleged or confirmed material non-conformity
• Any other authorized return of merchandise for a monetary refund
For avoidance of doubt, the non-refundable nature of original shipping and freight charges is not limited to change-of-mind or Standard Returns.
A refund of the merchandise purchase price applies only to the refundable merchandise amount and does not include the separately itemized original shipping or freight charge.
Inspired Overland’s decision to authorize a return, issue a merchandise refund, waive a restocking fee, arrange or pay for return transportation, direct merchandise to a dealer or other return location, or provide another accommodation does not make the original shipping or freight charge refundable.
If Inspired Overland voluntarily refunds an original shipping or freight charge in a particular transaction, that refund is a transaction-specific accommodation only and does not modify this policy or establish a precedent for any other transaction.
6. Damaged, Defective, Incorrect, or Materially Non-Conforming Merchandise Returns
A customer seeking a monetary return or refund based on an allegation that merchandise is damaged, defective, incorrect, materially different from the merchandise ordered or represented, incorrectly specified, misrepresented, or otherwise materially non-conforming must submit the request to Inspired Overland for review and written authorization.
This section applies to requests for a monetary return or refund. Customers seeking repair, replacement parts, or product replacement must instead follow the Inspired Overland Limited Warranty.
A customer’s description or characterization of merchandise as “damaged,” “defective,” “incorrect,” “misrepresented,” “non-conforming,” “rejected,” or similar terminology does not by itself establish that the merchandise meets that classification, establish a breach, or determine the remedy available.
Inspired Overland may require reasonable documentation necessary to evaluate the request, including but not limited to:
• Photographs
• Video
• Measurements and the method used to obtain those measurements
• Serial numbers or other product identifiers
• Product labels
• Delivery records
• Packaging photographs
• Installation information
• Written descriptions of the claimed issue
• Other documentation reasonably related to the request
Customers must provide requested documentation and reasonably cooperate with the review process. Failure to provide sufficient documentation may prevent Inspired Overland from verifying the claim and may result in the request being denied.
Customers should discontinue further use, installation, modification, alteration, or repair of merchandise after discovering an alleged issue, except as reasonably necessary to inspect or document the condition. Continued use, modification, damage, or alteration after discovery may affect the evaluation of the request or the amount of any refund.
Inspired Overland will evaluate the merchandise, supporting documentation, purchase records, product information, and circumstances of the request and will make the final determination under this policy as to whether the merchandise qualifies for an authorized monetary return.
Authorization of a return does not constitute an admission that the merchandise was defective, damaged before delivery, incorrectly described, incorrectly specified, misrepresented, materially non-conforming, or otherwise in breach of the transaction.
If a return is authorized under this section, Inspired Overland will provide or approve the applicable return instructions, method, and destination.
Customers are responsible for return shipping and transportation costs for returns authorized under this section, including freight charges for rooftop tents, unless Inspired Overland expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
Original shipping and freight charges are non-refundable for returns authorized under this section, including returns involving alleged or confirmed damage, manufacturing defects, incorrect merchandise, incorrect or disputed dimensions or specifications, alleged misrepresentation, product-description discrepancies, or alleged or confirmed material non-conformity.
A refund approved under this section applies to the refundable merchandise amount and does not include the separately itemized original shipping or freight charge.
Inspired Overland’s decision to authorize a return, issue a merchandise refund, waive a fee, arrange or pay for return transportation, direct the merchandise to a dealer or other return location, or provide another accommodation does not constitute an admission of fault or liability, make the original shipping or freight charge refundable, modify this policy, or establish a precedent for another transaction.
Any voluntary exception or accommodation provided by Inspired Overland applies only to the individual transaction for which it was provided.
7. Refunds & Refund Amounts
Refunds are issued only after the returned merchandise has been received at the authorized return destination and any required inspection has been completed.
Return authorization does not constitute approval of a refund or guarantee a particular refund amount.
If a refund is approved, the refundable merchandise amount will be based on the amount actually paid for the merchandise after any discounts, promotional credits, or other price reductions applied to the purchase.
Original shipping and freight charges are separate from the merchandise purchase price and are non-refundable as stated in this policy.
Where applicable, the refund amount may be reduced by:
• Applicable restocking fees
• Missing or damaged components, accessories, hardware, packaging, or included materials
• Damage or deterioration occurring while the merchandise was in the customer’s possession
• Damage occurring during customer-arranged return transportation
• Other amounts properly chargeable to the customer under this Return Policy or the Inspired Overland Shipping Policy
Inspired Overland reserves the right to determine the condition of returned merchandise and the applicable refund amount based on inspection, purchase records, product identifiers, supporting documentation, and the requirements of this policy.
Approved refunds will generally be processed within 5–10 business days after the return has been received and inspected.
Refunds will be issued to the original payment method whenever reasonably possible. Processing time after Inspired Overland submits the refund may vary depending on the customer’s bank, card issuer, payment processor, or other financial institution.
If the original payment method cannot accept the refund, Inspired Overland may provide an alternative refund method at its discretion.
A refund is not considered incomplete solely because a separately itemized original shipping or freight charge, applicable restocking fee, authorized deduction, or other non-refundable amount is not included in the merchandise refund.
If Inspired Overland voluntarily waives a deduction, fee, or other amount in a particular transaction, that accommodation applies only to that transaction and does not modify this policy or establish a precedent.
8. Cancellations
Orders may be canceled within 1 hour of purchase at no charge, provided the order has not already been shipped or tendered to the carrier.
Cancellation requests submitted more than 1 hour after purchase are not guaranteed. Inspired Overland may, at its discretion, approve a cancellation if the order has not yet been shipped or tendered to the carrier.
A cancellation request is not effective until Inspired Overland confirms the cancellation in writing. Sending an email, submitting a request, contacting the carrier, or initiating a payment dispute does not by itself cancel an order.
Once an order has been shipped or tendered to the carrier, the order can no longer be canceled.
If a customer no longer wants merchandise after it has been shipped for reasons that qualify as a Standard Return, the merchandise must be returned through the Standard Return process and:
• A 20% restocking fee will apply.
• The customer is responsible for return shipping and transportation costs.
• Original shipping and freight charges are non-refundable.
• All other applicable Standard Return requirements remain in effect.
If the customer is seeking a return because of alleged freight damage, product damage, a manufacturing defect, incorrect merchandise, incorrect or disputed dimensions or specifications, alleged misrepresentation, or alleged material non-conformity, the request will instead be handled under the applicable return or claim category stated in this policy.
Refusing delivery, failing to accept delivery, failing to schedule delivery, directing a carrier to return a shipment, or otherwise preventing delivery does not constitute an authorized cancellation or return.
If merchandise is returned to Inspired Overland because of a customer refusal, failure to accept or schedule delivery, unauthorized carrier instruction, incorrect customer-provided information, or another customer-caused delivery issue, the customer remains responsible for any applicable original freight, return freight, storage, redelivery, reconsignment, carrier, restocking, or other charges provided for under the Inspired Overland Shipping Policy and this Return Policy.
Inspired Overland may deduct amounts properly owed under these policies from any refund otherwise due where permitted.
If Inspired Overland voluntarily approves a cancellation outside of these terms, waives a fee, or provides another accommodation in a particular transaction, that accommodation applies only to that transaction and does not modify this policy or establish a precedent.
9. Exchanges
Inspired Overland does not offer direct merchandise exchanges.
If a customer wishes to change to a different product, model, size, configuration, or other merchandise, the original merchandise must first be handled through the applicable return process under this policy, and the desired replacement merchandise must be purchased as a separate order.
Calling a request an “exchange,” “swap,” “upgrade,” “downgrade,” or similar term does not exempt the original merchandise from the applicable return requirements, fees, shipping obligations, or refund terms of this policy.
Any refund for the original merchandise will be determined independently from the purchase price of the new merchandise. The original purchase price, discount, promotional offer, coupon, sale price, shipping rate, or other transaction term does not transfer to or guarantee the pricing of a new order.
Replacement merchandise is subject to current pricing, availability, shipping charges, taxes, promotions, and other terms in effect when the new order is placed.
Inspired Overland is not required to reserve inventory or delay the sale of available inventory while a return is being reviewed, transported, inspected, or refunded.
Original shipping and freight charges remain non-refundable as stated in this policy, and any new order is subject to its own applicable shipping or freight charges.
Warranty repairs, replacement parts, and product replacements provided under the Inspired Overland Limited Warranty are warranty remedies and are not considered merchandise exchanges under this section.
If Inspired Overland voluntarily permits a direct swap, upgrade, downgrade, price adjustment, freight accommodation, or other exchange-related accommodation in a particular transaction, that accommodation applies only to that transaction and does not modify this policy or establish a precedent.
10. Sale, Clearance & Final Sale Items
Merchandise identified at the time of purchase as “Final Sale,” “Clearance,” “Closeout,” “Open Box,” “Scratch and Dent,” “As-Is,” or similar is not eligible for a Standard Return unless Inspired Overland expressly states otherwise in writing.
Discounted pricing, promotional pricing, or use of a coupon or discount code does not by itself make merchandise Final Sale unless the merchandise is specifically identified as Final Sale or otherwise non-returnable at the time of purchase.
Final Sale status does not prevent a customer from submitting a claim involving alleged freight damage, damaged merchandise, manufacturing defects, incorrect merchandise, incorrect or disputed dimensions or specifications, alleged misrepresentation, or alleged material non-conformity.
Any such request will be evaluated under the applicable return or claim provisions of this policy or the Inspired Overland Limited Warranty, depending on the nature of the request and the resolution being sought.
Merchandise sold with a disclosed cosmetic condition, known defect, missing component, prior use, packaging damage, blemish, or other specifically disclosed condition is not considered defective, incorrect, misrepresented, or materially non-conforming solely because of the condition that was disclosed before purchase.
A customer may not rely on a condition, characteristic, defect, omission, or limitation that was clearly disclosed before purchase as the basis for avoiding Final Sale status or obtaining a return or refund.
Original shipping and freight charges remain non-refundable as stated in this policy.
If Inspired Overland voluntarily accepts a return of Final Sale merchandise, provides a refund, waives a restriction, or offers another accommodation in a particular transaction, that accommodation applies only to that transaction and does not modify this policy or establish a precedent.
11. Authorized Dealer Purchases
Merchandise purchased from an authorized Inspired Overland dealer must be returned to and processed through the authorized dealer that originally sold the merchandise.
Inspired Overland does not directly process monetary returns or refunds for merchandise purchased from an authorized dealer unless Inspired Overland expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
The selling dealer is responsible for administering the applicable return or refund process for the transaction between the customer and that dealer, including any dealer-specific return requirements, procedures, fees, or refund terms.
Customers may not bypass the selling dealer by shipping, delivering, or returning merchandise directly to Inspired Overland, an Inspired Overland warehouse, another authorized dealer, fulfillment facility, or other location without prior written authorization from Inspired Overland.
Acceptance of merchandise by an Inspired Overland facility or another location does not, by itself, constitute approval of a return or create an obligation for Inspired Overland to issue a refund for a purchase made through an authorized dealer.
If a customer alleges that merchandise purchased from an authorized dealer is damaged, defective, incorrect, materially non-conforming, incorrectly specified, or otherwise eligible for a monetary return, the customer must first submit the return or refund request through the selling dealer.
Warranty requests are separate from monetary return or refund requests. Warranty claims involving merchandise purchased through an authorized dealer are governed by the Inspired Overland Limited Warranty and its applicable dealer-claim procedures.
Original shipping, freight, delivery, installation, dealer, or other charges collected by the selling dealer are governed by the applicable transaction and policies of the selling dealer and are not refundable by Inspired Overland.
If Inspired Overland voluntarily accepts a direct return, issues a refund, provides transportation, or otherwise assists with a dealer transaction in a particular case, that accommodation applies only to that transaction and does not modify this policy, transfer responsibility for other dealer transactions to Inspired Overland, or establish a precedent.
12. How to Request a Return & Obtain Authorization
All return requests must be submitted to Inspired Overland and approved in writing before merchandise is shipped, transported, delivered, or otherwise returned.
To request a return, contact Inspired Overland at support@inspiredoverland.com and provide the information reasonably necessary to identify and evaluate the request, which may include:
• Order number
• Purchaser name and contact information
• Product name or model
• Serial number or other product identifier, when applicable
• Reason for the requested return
• Photographs or video, when applicable
• Measurements or other documentation related to an alleged product issue, when applicable
• Any additional information reasonably requested by Inspired Overland to evaluate the return
Standard Return requests must be submitted within the applicable Standard Return window stated in this policy.
Requests involving alleged freight damage, damaged or defective merchandise, incorrect merchandise, material non-conformity, or warranty issues are subject to their respective procedures, documentation requirements, and applicable timeframes.
Submitting a return request does not authorize the customer to return the merchandise and does not guarantee that the return or any requested refund will be approved.
A return is authorized only after Inspired Overland provides written return authorization and applicable return instructions.
Return authorization may specify:
• The merchandise authorized for return
• The approved return destination
• The approved or required transportation method
• Packaging or preparation requirements
• Documentation requirements
• The deadline by which the merchandise must be tendered for return
• Any other instructions reasonably necessary to complete the authorized return
Customers must follow the written return instructions provided by Inspired Overland.
Merchandise shipped, transported, delivered, refused, redirected, or otherwise returned without written authorization may be refused and does not create an obligation for Inspired Overland to approve the return, issue a refund, reimburse transportation expenses, or treat the merchandise as an authorized return.
Physical receipt or possession of merchandise by Inspired Overland, a warehouse, fulfillment facility, authorized dealer, service location, employee, carrier, or other designated location does not by itself constitute approval of the return or approval of a refund.
Return authorization is limited to the merchandise and transaction identified in the authorization and may not be transferred, reused, or applied to other merchandise, orders, or customers.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate information and remaining reasonably available for communications necessary to complete the return process. Failure to provide requested information, respond to reasonable requests, or comply with the return instructions may delay, affect, or prevent completion of the return.
13. Return Inspection & Determination
All returned merchandise is subject to inspection after receipt at the authorized return destination.
Physical receipt, unloading, storage, possession, or acceptance of returned merchandise does not by itself constitute approval of the return, verification of the customer’s allegations, acceptance of liability, or approval of any particular refund amount.
Inspired Overland may inspect and evaluate the returned merchandise to determine:
• Whether the merchandise returned is the merchandise originally purchased
• Whether serial numbers, labels, or other product identifiers match applicable purchase records
• The condition of the merchandise
• Whether the merchandise shows evidence of use, installation, modification, alteration, repair, misuse, or customer-caused damage
• Whether components, hardware, accessories, packaging, or included materials are missing or damaged
• Whether an alleged defect, dimensional discrepancy, specification issue, damage, incorrect item, or material non-conformity can be verified
• Whether the merchandise and return otherwise comply with the applicable requirements of this policy
Inspired Overland may compare the returned merchandise with photographs, video, measurements, product specifications, production information, shipping records, customer-provided documentation, purchase records, and other information reasonably relevant to the return.
If additional information, photographs, measurements, testing, or documentation are reasonably necessary to complete the review, Inspired Overland may request that information before making a determination.
If the condition of the returned merchandise or the results of the inspection differ materially from the information provided by the customer when requesting the return, Inspired Overland may reconsider the return authorization, deny the return, reduce the refund, or apply another provision of this policy as appropriate.
If merchandise was returned under a claim of damage, defect, incorrect specifications, misrepresentation, or material non-conformity and the claimed issue cannot be reasonably verified, authorization of the physical return does not require Inspired Overland to approve the claim or issue the refund requested by the customer.
Where merchandise does not qualify under the return category originally asserted by the customer but independently qualifies for a Standard Return, Inspired Overland may offer to process the merchandise as a Standard Return subject to all applicable Standard Return requirements, fees, deductions, and refund terms. Reclassification as a Standard Return is not automatic.
If a returned item is determined to be ineligible for a refund, Inspired Overland may provide the customer with available options for disposition or return of the merchandise. Any additional shipping, freight, storage, or transportation required to return ineligible merchandise to the customer may be the customer’s responsibility.
Inspired Overland will make the final determination for purposes of administering this policy regarding return eligibility, classification, condition, applicable deductions, and refund amount based on the merchandise, inspection findings, supporting documentation, purchase records, and the terms of this policy.
14. Unclaimed or Unretrieved Returned Merchandise
If returned merchandise is determined to be ineligible for a refund, is only partially approved for a refund, or otherwise remains available for return to the customer, Inspired Overland will notify the customer using the contact information associated with the order or return request.
Unless Inspired Overland provides a different deadline in writing, the customer must respond within 30 calendar days of that notice and make the arrangements necessary to retrieve the merchandise.
Depending on the circumstances, Inspired Overland may require the customer to:
• Arrange and pay for approved shipping or freight transportation
• Provide or pay for an approved shipping or freight label
• Schedule an approved carrier or courier pickup
• Retrieve the merchandise from the designated location
• Provide any information reasonably necessary to complete the return of the merchandise to the customer
The customer remains responsible for applicable shipping, freight, transportation, storage, or other charges resulting from the return of merchandise to the customer unless Inspired Overland expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
Inspired Overland is not required to store unclaimed or unretrieved merchandise indefinitely.
Failure to respond, provide required information, pay applicable transportation charges, or retrieve the merchandise within the stated timeframe does not convert an ineligible return into an approved return, does not create an entitlement to a refund, and does not transfer responsibility for return transportation costs to Inspired Overland.
Merchandise that remains unclaimed after the stated deadline may be moved to another storage location, and the customer may be responsible for reasonable third-party transportation or storage charges incurred as a result.
Inspired Overland may provide additional written notice before taking further action regarding merchandise that remains unclaimed or unretrieved. Any eventual disposal, sale, or other disposition of unclaimed merchandise will be handled in accordance with any legally required procedures.
Inspired Overland is not responsible for delays in returning merchandise to the customer that result from the customer’s failure to respond, provide required information, make payment for applicable transportation charges, or otherwise cooperate with the retrieval process.
If Inspired Overland voluntarily stores merchandise beyond the stated deadline, pays transportation costs, waives a charge, or provides another accommodation in a particular case, that accommodation applies only to that transaction and does not modify this policy or establish a precedent.
15. Payment Disputes & Chargebacks
Customers are encouraged to contact Inspired Overland directly regarding any order, return, refund, shipping, or product-related concern before initiating a payment dispute or chargeback so that Inspired Overland has an opportunity to review and address the matter.
Initiating a payment dispute, chargeback, payment reversal, or similar claim through a bank, card issuer, payment processor, financing provider, or other payment service does not by itself:
• Cancel an order
• Authorize a return
• Satisfy the requirements of this Return Policy
• Establish that merchandise is damaged, defective, incorrect, misrepresented, or materially non-conforming
• Establish that Inspired Overland breached the transaction
• Approve a refund
• Relieve the customer of applicable return, shipping, freight, or merchandise-preservation obligations
Unless otherwise instructed in writing, customers remain responsible for retaining, protecting, and returning merchandise in accordance with the applicable provisions of this policy while a payment dispute is pending.
Inspired Overland reserves the right to respond to any payment dispute or chargeback and to provide relevant documentation to the applicable bank, card issuer, payment processor, payment network, financing provider, or other entity administering the dispute.
Such documentation may include order records, payment records, checkout disclosures, applicable policies, customer acknowledgments, communications, product information, photographs, video, measurements, serial numbers, shipping records, tracking information, proof of delivery, carrier records, return records, warranty records, inspection findings, and other information reasonably related to the transaction or dispute.
Inspired Overland’s participation in a payment dispute or chargeback process does not constitute an admission of fault, liability, product defect, misrepresentation, non-conformity, or entitlement to the remedy requested by the customer.
If a payment dispute is opened while a return or refund request involving the same transaction is being processed, Inspired Overland may coordinate the monetary resolution of the return with the applicable payment dispute process to prevent duplicate credits or duplicate reimbursement.
Inspired Overland may pause processing of a voluntary refund for an amount that is simultaneously subject to an active payment dispute until the status of that disputed amount can be confirmed, unless Inspired Overland elects to resolve the matter through another method.
A provisional or temporary credit issued by a bank, card issuer, or payment provider while a dispute is being investigated does not constitute a refund issued by Inspired Overland or establish the final outcome of the dispute.
If a customer receives both a refund from Inspired Overland and a separate payment reversal, chargeback credit, or other reimbursement covering the same amount of the same transaction, the customer is not entitled to retain duplicate reimbursement for that amount.
A payment dispute does not transfer ownership of merchandise to Inspired Overland, and a customer who receives or seeks a reversal of the merchandise purchase price remains subject to any applicable requirements concerning the return, retrieval, preservation, or disposition of the merchandise.
Inspired Overland may continue to communicate with the customer regarding return logistics, merchandise retrieval, documentation, or resolution of the underlying transaction while a payment dispute is pending.
The outcome of a payment dispute or chargeback is determined through the applicable payment-provider or card-network process and does not, by itself, amend Inspired Overland’s policies or establish a precedent for any other transaction.
16. Fraud, Misrepresentation & Policy Abuse
Inspired Overland reserves the right to deny a return, refund, exchange, warranty request, or other accommodation when there is reasonable evidence that the request involves fraud, intentional misrepresentation, falsified information, merchandise substitution, or abuse of this policy.
Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:
• Returning merchandise different from the merchandise originally purchased or authorized for return
• Altering, removing, replacing, or misrepresenting serial numbers, product identifiers, labels, or other identifying information
• Submitting materially false, altered, manipulated, or misleading photographs, videos, measurements, documents, tracking information, or other evidence
• Intentionally causing or altering damage and representing that damage as a manufacturing defect, freight damage, or pre-existing condition
• Misrepresenting the condition, use, installation, modification, repair history, or circumstances surrounding merchandise
• Returning incomplete merchandise while intentionally representing the return as complete
• Seeking refunds, credits, reimbursements, replacements, or other compensation for merchandise or amounts already refunded, replaced, reimbursed, or otherwise resolved
• Using another customer’s order information, return authorization, serial number, proof of purchase, or other transaction information without authorization
• Repeatedly using return, refund, warranty, or payment-dispute processes in a manner involving materially false or misleading representations
Inspired Overland may require additional verification or documentation when information provided in connection with a return or claim is incomplete, inconsistent, or reasonably requires further verification.
An inconsistency, mistake, disagreement, or unsuccessful claim does not by itself constitute fraud or policy abuse. Inspired Overland will evaluate the available information and circumstances before making a determination under this section.
If Inspired Overland reasonably determines that a request involves fraud, intentional misrepresentation, merchandise substitution, falsified evidence, or material abuse of this policy, Inspired Overland may deny the applicable request and may decline to provide voluntary accommodations associated with that transaction.
Inspired Overland may preserve and use relevant transaction records, communications, photographs, video, product identifiers, shipping records, inspection findings, and other documentation in connection with payment disputes, recovery of amounts lawfully owed, or other proceedings relating to the transaction.
Nothing in this section requires Inspired Overland to approve a return, refund, warranty claim, or other request solely because merchandise has been physically received or because a customer has initiated a payment dispute or other claim.
Any determination under this section will be based on the available merchandise, documentation, transaction records, inspection findings, and surrounding circumstances.
17. Mandatory Rights & Severability
Nothing in this Return Policy is intended to limit any right that cannot legally be limited by agreement.
If any provision of this Return Policy is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions of this Return Policy will remain in effect.
Any exception required by law for a particular transaction applies only to the extent required and does not otherwise modify this Return Policy or create an exception for other transactions.
18. Customer Acknowledgment, Policy Updates & Effective Date
By placing an order with Inspired Overland, the customer acknowledges that they have had the opportunity to review this Return Policy and agree to the terms applicable to their purchase.
This Return Policy forms part of the terms governing purchases made directly from Inspired Overland.
Inspired Overland may revise or update this Return Policy from time to time. Any revised policy will become effective on the date stated in the updated policy and will apply to purchases made on or after that effective date unless otherwise expressly stated.
Unless a change is required by law or is expressly made more favorable to the customer, the Return Policy in effect at the time an order is placed will govern that transaction.
Inspired Overland’s failure to enforce any provision of this policy in a particular transaction does not waive its right to enforce that provision in another transaction.
Any exception, accommodation, waiver, refund, transportation assistance, fee waiver, or other resolution provided in an individual transaction applies only to that transaction and does not amend this Return Policy or establish a precedent.
