Inspired Overland Shipping Policy
Please review our shipping policy before placing your order.
By completing your purchase, you agree to the terms outlined on this page.
1. Freight Shipping Costs
Inspired Overland charges a standard $375 freight shipping fee for rooftop tents shipped to most major freight service areas within the lower 48 states.
LTL freight rates are based on multiple factors, including origin and destination, shipment weight and dimensions, carrier service area, and any required accessorial services. As a result, certain shipments may require an additional freight charge above our standard $375 shipping fee, including shipments involving rural, remote, limited-service, or higher-cost freight routes.
If the applicable freight rate for your order exceeds our standard $375 freight shipping fee, we will contact you before shipping. You will have the opportunity to review and approve the additional amount before the shipment is tendered to the freight carrier.
Freight quotes are time-sensitive and subject to expiration. See the Freight Quote Validity section below for details.
2. Delivery Address Changes, Reconsignment & Carrier Charges
Customers are responsible for providing a complete, accurate, and deliverable shipping address and valid contact information at the time of purchase.
Once a freight shipment has been dispatched, tendered to the carrier, or scheduled for delivery, customer-requested changes or customer-caused delivery issues may result in additional charges, including but not limited to:
• Reconsignment or address-change fees
• Delivery attempt fees
• Redelivery fees
• Storage fees
• Return freight charges
• Other applicable carrier accessorial charges
Customer-caused delivery issues include, but are not limited to:
• Providing an incorrect, incomplete, or undeliverable shipping address
• Providing incorrect or incomplete contact information
• Requesting a delivery address change after the shipment has been dispatched
• Failing to respond to carrier communications or schedule delivery
• Being unavailable for a scheduled or agreed delivery appointment
• Refusing delivery for reasons unrelated to documented freight damage
• Failing to provide information or access reasonably required to complete delivery
• Requesting additional or alternate delivery services after shipment
Additional carrier charges resulting from a customer-requested change, customer action, customer inaction, or delivery issue attributable to the customer are the customer’s responsibility.
If Inspired Overland is billed for any such charges, the customer agrees to reimburse Inspired Overland for the applicable amount. These charges may be invoiced before or after delivery depending on when they are assessed.
Customers may not independently authorize address changes, rerouting, reconsignment, alternate delivery locations, or additional delivery services directly with the freight carrier without prior approval from Inspired Overland. Any unauthorized change or service requested by the customer, recipient, or someone acting on their behalf remains the customer’s financial responsibility.
If applicable charges are not paid when required, the shipment may be delayed, held, or returned to sender. The customer remains responsible for any resulting storage, redelivery, reconsignment, return freight, or other applicable carrier charges. Any applicable restocking fee will be governed by the Inspired Overland Return & Refund Policy.
3. Freight Delivery Conditions & Accessorial Fees
Standard freight deliveries are curbside delivery service only.
Freight carriers typically deliver the shipment to the closest safe accessible area near the delivery address. Drivers are not required to move pallets into garages, homes, backyards, driveways, or other private areas.
Any customer request for additional freight services, or any delivery condition that requires additional freight services, may result in extra carrier-imposed charges, including but not limited to:
- Inside delivery
- Garage delivery
- White glove service
- Limited access delivery
- Storage fees
- Additional labor assistance
These charges are determined by the freight carrier and will be passed directly to the customer.
Customers should not arrange or authorize additional delivery services directly with the carrier without prior approval from Inspired Overland. Unauthorized services requested by the customer remain the customer’s financial responsibility.
Inspired Overland is not responsible for carrier limitations involving driveway access, HOA restrictions, narrow streets, apartment complexes, gated communities, stair access, or unsafe delivery conditions determined by the driver.
4. Non-Direct & Limited-Service Locations
Certain delivery addresses may fall outside a freight carrier’s direct or standard service network or may be classified as non-direct, outlying, limited-service, interline, or under a similar service designation. Terminology and service classifications vary by carrier.
These locations may require service through a partner or affiliate carrier, special routing, or other carrier arrangements that may result in higher freight rates or additional carrier charges.
If your delivery address requires freight service above our standard $375 rate, the additional freight process outlined in the following section will apply.
5. Additional Freight Charges for Higher-Cost Shipments
If the applicable freight rate for your order exceeds our standard $375 freight shipping fee, we will contact you before shipping.
The additional amount due will be the difference between the standard $375 freight shipping fee already paid and the higher freight rate quoted for your shipment.
We will:
• Notify you of the additional freight amount before shipping
• Give you the opportunity to approve or decline the additional freight charge before the shipment is tendered to the freight carrier
• Provide a PDF copy of the applicable carrier freight quote upon request for transparency
Any additional freight amount above our standard $375 rate is based on the applicable carrier quote and is passed through to the customer without markup.
For example, if the carrier quotes $550 for your shipment and you have already paid the standard $375 freight shipping fee, the additional amount due would be $175.
If you decline the additional freight charge before the shipment is tendered to the freight carrier, we will cancel the order and issue a full refund with no penalties.
Freight Quote Validity
Additional freight quotes for higher-cost shipments are valid for 48 hours from the time they are issued, unless otherwise stated.
Carrier-quoted freight rates may change based on current carrier pricing, fuel surcharges, capacity, service availability, accessorial charges, and other shipment-specific factors.
If the additional freight charge is not approved and paid within the applicable quote period, the quote may expire and a new carrier quote may be required.
If a new quote results in a different additional freight amount, Inspired Overland will notify you before shipping. You may approve or decline the revised additional charge before the shipment is tendered to the freight carrier.
6. Freight Delivery & Damage Policy
Rooftop tents are shipped using protective packaging and palletized freight. Because freight shipments may pass through multiple terminals and handling points during transit, shipping damage can occasionally occur.
To protect your order and preserve our ability to address freight-related damage, please follow the procedures below.
At the time of delivery:
1. Be present to receive and inspect the shipment whenever possible.
2. Inspect the pallet, packaging, and visible areas of the shipment before signing the delivery receipt or Bill of Lading (BOL).
3. If visible shipping damage is present:
- Take clear photographs of the pallet, packaging, and all visible damaged areas before the shipment is moved or unpacked.
- Notify the driver of the damage.
- Make sure the damage is clearly and specifically documented on the delivery receipt or BOL before signing. Do not sign the shipment as received in good condition if visible damage is present.
- If the shipment appears severely damaged, contact Inspired Overland immediately for guidance before accepting delivery whenever reasonably possible.
- If the shipment is refused due to severe shipping damage, make sure the delivery receipt or BOL clearly states that the shipment was refused due to damage.
- Email support@inspiredoverland.com as soon as possible with your order number, photographs, and a copy or photograph of the delivery receipt or BOL.
If shipping damage is discovered after delivery:
- Stop unpacking once the damage is discovered when reasonably possible.
- Keep all original packaging, including the pallet, box, foam, padding, straps, and other shipping materials.
- Take detailed photographs of the damaged product, packaging, pallet, and surrounding areas from multiple angles.
- Email support@inspiredoverland.com within 24 hours of discovering the damage with your order number and supporting photographs.
Freight carriers require documentation to evaluate shipping-damage claims. Failure to inspect the shipment, document visible damage on the delivery receipt or BOL, retain packaging, or provide requested photographs and information may materially limit our ability to establish that damage occurred during transit and may affect the remedies available for a freight-damage claim.
This section applies specifically to damage alleged to have occurred during shipping or freight transportation. Manufacturing defects and other warranty claims are governed separately by the Inspired Overland Limited Warranty.
7. Shipping Times
Freight transit typically takes 5–10 business days after the shipment has been picked up from our warehouse. This timeframe is an estimate only and does not include order processing, warehouse preparation, carrier pickup scheduling, weekends, holidays, or delivery appointment scheduling.
Tracking information will be sent automatically by email once the carrier has picked up your order. If you have not received tracking information, your order is still being processed or awaiting carrier pickup.
Once the shipment has been picked up and accepted by the freight carrier, it is considered shipped and is no longer within our physical possession or direct control. Carrier transit and delivery dates are estimates and are not guaranteed.
Freight shipments may be delayed for reasons outside our control, including, but not limited to:
- Severe weather or natural disasters
- Freight terminal congestion
- Mechanical or equipment issues
- Driver or staffing shortages
- Transfers between freight terminals or distribution hubs
- Handoffs to regional or partner carriers
- Delivery appointment availability
- Limited-access or residential delivery requirements
- Incorrect or incomplete customer information
- Missed delivery appointments
- Other carrier-related operational delays
A carrier delay does not mean that an order was never shipped, lost, canceled, or improperly fulfilled. Tracking records, the carrier’s pickup confirmation, bill of lading, shipment status, customer communications, and delivery records may be used as proof that the order was fulfilled and tendered to the carrier.
Customers are responsible for monitoring their tracking information, remaining available for carrier communications, and scheduling or accepting delivery when contacted. Additional charges resulting from missed appointments, storage, redelivery, address corrections, reconsignment, or other customer-requested changes may be the customer’s responsibility.
We will make reasonable efforts to assist with tracking updates and communicate with the carrier when necessary. However, we are not responsible for carrier-controlled transit delays and cannot guarantee an exact delivery date after the shipment has been picked up.
By placing an order, the customer acknowledges and agrees that freight transit times are estimates, carrier delays may occur, and delays outside our control do not by themselves constitute non-fulfillment or grounds for cancellation, refund, or payment dispute once the order has shipped.
8. Customer Acknowledgment
By placing an order with Inspired Overland, the customer confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to this Shipping Policy.
The customer acknowledges and agrees that:
• Inspired Overland charges a standard $375 freight shipping fee for rooftop tents shipped to most major freight service areas within the lower 48 states.
• LTL freight rates may vary based on factors including origin and destination, shipment characteristics, carrier service area, routing, and applicable accessorial services.
• Certain shipments may require freight service above the standard $375 rate.
• If the applicable freight rate for an order exceeds the standard $375 freight shipping fee, the customer will be notified before shipment and given the opportunity to approve or decline the additional freight charge before the shipment is tendered to the freight carrier.
• The additional amount due for a higher-cost shipment is the difference between the standard $375 freight shipping fee already paid and the higher quoted freight rate.
• Any additional freight amount above the standard $375 rate is based on the applicable carrier quote and is passed through to the customer without markup. A PDF copy of the applicable carrier freight quote will be provided upon request.
• Additional freight quotes are valid for 48 hours from the time they are issued unless otherwise stated. If a quote expires before the additional freight charge is approved and paid, a new freight quote may be required.
• Standard freight delivery is curbside only.
• The customer is responsible for providing complete and accurate delivery and contact information, monitoring tracking, responding to carrier communications, scheduling delivery, and being available to accept the shipment.
• Additional charges resulting from address changes, reconsignment, missed appointments, storage, redelivery, refused delivery, limited-access requirements, unauthorized changes, customer-requested services, customer inaction, or other customer-caused delivery issues are the customer’s responsibility.
• Customers may not independently authorize address changes, rerouting, reconsignment, alternate delivery locations, additional services, or alternate delivery instructions directly with the freight carrier without prior approval from Inspired Overland.
• Delivery location and accessibility are subject to carrier and driver safety and access requirements.
• Freight damage must be inspected, photographed, documented, and reported according to the procedures stated in this Shipping Policy.
• Refusing delivery for reasons unrelated to documented freight damage may result in return freight, storage, redelivery, reconsignment, restocking, or other applicable charges.
• Freight transit times are estimates and are not guaranteed.
• Once a shipment has been picked up and accepted by the freight carrier, it is considered shipped and is no longer within Inspired Overland’s physical possession or direct control.
• Carrier delays may occur due to weather, terminal congestion, staffing, equipment issues, freight transfers, partner-carrier handoffs, delivery scheduling, access limitations, or other carrier-related circumstances.
• Carrier-controlled delays after pickup do not, by themselves, mean that an order was not shipped, lost, canceled, or improperly fulfilled.
• Tracking records, carrier pickup confirmations, bills of lading, terminal scans, shipment records, delivery records, carrier communications, and customer communications may be used to verify fulfillment and shipment status.
By completing a purchase, the customer agrees that carrier-controlled transit delays after pickup do not, by themselves, constitute grounds for cancellation, refund, or payment dispute.
